Welcome to wild, wonderful West Virginia! Let me initially mention that I, our staff, and the Department of Administration, are sincerely honored to have you here. It is our objective to make your visit a pleasant one, and as enjoyable as we possibly can.

As you may have noted, I started out by saying “welcome STRIMA family.” The feeling that we all share is that this conference is about education, and helping one another become the best we can be in our chosen endeavor. As such, it is more of a family reunion atmosphere that brings us back each time to learn and to celebrate with those we have grown close to over the years.

| As you go through the process of registering for the conference, you will undoubtedly notice several changes. We now have a bank domiciled in Bismarck, North Dakota to facilitate how invoices are paid. You won’t need to keep up with where invoices are to be remitted each year anymore as it will remain the same now. The registration forms are editable such that once you complete your registration form; you can print a completed copy and then submit the invoice electronically. Also, sponsorship information has been revised to include an opportunity to sponsor the hospitality room. Swwweeeet! |
Our conference this year is held at the beautiful Resort at Glade Springs located in Daniels, West Virginia. Yes, it is somewhat off the beaten path, but well worth the drive to get there. The resort sits upon a plateau among the great Appalachian Mountains, about 2,500 feet above sea level. With an average temperature of 63ºF, you can expect moderate days and cool evenings during your visit.

West Virginia has spectacular scenery. And, September is the beginning of the season when the mountain foliage begins to turn colors. If the opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain climbing and mountain biking don’t take your breath away, try whitewater rafting to get your blood flowing. The New River/Greenbrier Valley offers incredible whitewater, fabulous fishing and you’ll also find historic towns where coal and the railroads were once king.
|
We have worked for several months to put together an exciting and focused agenda bringing together insiders and experts from the world of risk management. Educational session presentations will be available on the STRIMA web site immediately after the conference. We hope you will have a truly rewarding week.
